Future Forum Co-chairs Applaud Nomination of Former Member Xochitl Torres Small as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture

Washington, D.C.– Future Forum co-chairs Congressman Colin Allred (D-TX), Congressman Darren Soto (D-FL), Congresswoman Haley Stevens (D-MI) and Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen (D-CO) released the following statement applauding President Biden's nomination of former Future Forum member Xochitl Torres Small as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture. Torres Small is currently serving as the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Rural Development.

"Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small's dedication and service to our rural communities makes her a great choice to help lead the Department of Agriculture as Deputy Secretary and we join our colleagues in applauding her appointment," said the Co-chairs. "As passage of the Farm Bill approaches this year, it has never been more important to have the next generation of leaders at the table to help craft and implement this vital legislation that touches so many parts of American life. We have no doubt that Torres Small will continue to succeed in delivering for the American people in this new role."
