May 17, 2024

Washington, D.C.– Future Forum co-chairs Congressman Colin Allred (D-TX), Congressman Darren Soto (D-FL), Congresswoman Haley Stevens (D-MI), and Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen (D-CO) released the following statement on Congressman Tim Kennedy (NY-26) joining the Future Forum Caucus.

“Congressman Tim Kennedy has adamantly fought for young Western New Yorkers on critical issues including reducing gun violence and protecting LGBTQ+ rights,” said the Co-chairs. “We welcome Congressman Kennedy to the caucus and look forward to working with him to bridge the divide between young Americans and their government. We have no doubt he will continue to successfully advocate for our nation’s young folks as our newest Future Forum member.”

“I’m proud to join the Future Forum Caucus and their work to address issues facing younger Americans across our nation,” said Congressman Tim Kennedy. “Their commitment to bridging health care disparities, strengthening gun laws, and protecting LGBTQ+ and women’s rights are critical to building a fairer, more equitable country for the next generation. I’m excited to address these important priorities with my colleagues.”

As a former State Senator, Rep. Kennedy led a wide range of legislation on important issues such as protecting children, including victims of domestic violence and LGBTQ students, and strengthening gun safety laws in New York. He also played a crucial role in creating the Northland Workforce Center to connect Western New Yorkers with job opportunities and has secured ample funding for public schools.

Rep. Tim Kennedy (NY-26) was sworn in as a Member of the United States House of Representatives by the Speaker of the House on May 6, 2024. At 54 Members strong, the Future Forum Caucus stands at its largest size yet.
