Future Forum Elects Congresswoman Sara Jacobs as Vice Chair for the 117th Congress
Rep. Jacobs will join Chairman Darren Soto, Vice Chairs Haley Stevens and Colin Allred, and Chair Emeritus Stephanie Murphy in Future Forum’s leadership team
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, members of the Future Forum caucus – a generational caucus of young House Democrats – unanimously elected Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (CA-53) as vice chair for the 117th Congress. She will join current leaders, Chairman Darren Soto (FL-09), Vice Chairs Haley Stevens (MI-11) and Colin Allred (TX-32), and Chair Emeritus Stephanie Murphy (FL-07).
"I am honored and excited to be selected by my peers to serve as Vice Chair of Future Forum. As one of the youngest Members of Congress, I'm proud to bring a new generation of leadership to Washington," said Congresswoman Jacobs. "Millennials have been hit hard by endless war, an unfair economy, and now a global pandemic. As we restore our democracy and build a more equitable economy, we have to make sure that young people have a seat at the table."
During the 117th Congress, Future Forum's leadership team will focus on pressing issues affecting America's youth by creating policy task forces, hosting monthly local townhalls, and forming a Future Forum internship and youth Congress program. Since its founding in 2015, Future Forum has visited more than 50 cities in an effort to engage with millennial and Generation Z Americans where they live, work, and go to school.
